Chord sequence patterns in OWL

چکیده

Chord symbols and progressions are a common way to describe musical harmony. In this paper we present SEQ, a pattern representation using the Web Ontology Language OWLDL and its application to modelling chord sequences. SEQ provides a logical representation of order information, which is not available directly in OWL DL, together with an intuitive notation. It therefore allows the use of OWL reasoners for tasks such as classification of sequences by patterns and determining subsumption relationships between the patterns. The SEQ representation is used to express distinctive pattern obtained using data mining of multiple viewpoints of chord sequences.

Chord-Sequence-Factory: A Chord Arrangement System Modifying Factorized Chord Sequence Probabilities

This paper presents a system named ChordSequenceFactory for automatically generating chord arrangements. A key element of musical composition is the arrangement of chord sequences because good chord arrangements have the potential to enrich the listening experience and create a pleasant feeling of surprise by borrowing elements from different musical styles in unexpected ways. While chord seque...

A Hierarchical and Chord-based Semantic Service Discovery System in the Universal Network

The service of Universal Network is distinct from that of current network in that the former has QoS (Quality of Service) grading, and as a result, service discovery in the Universal Network is also quite different from that of present network. In this paper, we present a hierarchical semantic service discovery system for the Universal NetworkUniNServ. It uses OWL-S (Web ontology language for s...

A Vocabulary-Free Infinity-Gram Model for Nonparametric Bayesian Chord Progression Analysis

This paper presents probabilistic n-gram models for symbolic chord sequences. To overcome the fundamental limitations in conventional models—that the model optimality is not guaranteed, that the value of n is fixed uniquely, and that a vocabulary of chord types (e.g., major, minor, · · · ) is defined in an arbitrary way—we propose a vocabulary-free infinity-gram model based on Bayesian nonparam...

A Connectionist Approach to Driving Chord Progressions Using Tension

This paper describes how a backpropagation neural network learnt and reproduced harmonic patterns. These patterns were related in learning and production to musical tension. The neural network thus learnt to produce the next chord in a sequence such that listeners perceive a given degree of musical tension. During this research, it was confirmed that musical tension is measurable and that harmo...

A Framework for Exploring the Frequent Patterns based on Activities Sequence

In recent years, the development of the use of location-based tools has made it possible to produce geometric trajectories from the user's movement paths. In this way, users' goal of traveling and related activities can be considered in addition to the geometry and route shape. the user activity trajectory represents the sequence of the visited activities and its related analysis as presented i...
